New Short Term Insurance Product Launched
October 2 - A new product from
short term
insurance group, MiWay will see consumers enjoying dent and scratch
cover that will have no effect on their premiums and claims history.
The cost effective product will hopefully put an end to drivers' reluctance
to repair minor damages due to the price involved and their fear that their no
claim bonus will be jeopardized.
"We often have requests to repair minor bumper damage, dents due to shopping
trolleys and small scratches," said the Head of Claims at MiWay, Max Huggins.
"However, customers will often opt to cover these themselves as it falls within
the co payment portion of their policy."
"More concerning," said Huggins, "is the number of motorists driving around
with scratches, cracked windscreens and dents not wanting to claim as it might
affect their premiums, claims history and no claim bonus."
Huggins said that it should not cost "an arm and a leg" to repair minor
mishaps, and that MiWay addresses the problem quickly and with an affordable
R250 co-payment.
Repairs of up to R2000 can be carried out through the new service, and this
covers damage such as paint chips, window chips, small scratches and dents and
mag wheel scratches.
As a leading short term insurance group, MiWay offers a number of quality
products that cover car insurance, credit life, home loans and others.
The company eventually plans to branch out to other services.
