Tips to Lower Car Insurance
January 29 - Lion of Africa insurance group recognizes that times are still
tough for many South Africans, who are seeking ways to keep their insurance
costs as low as possible without tampering with their cover.
As such, the
car insurance group showed car owners how to lower their premiums.
Firstly, car owners can become proactive and as a result lower the costs.
Customers can fit a tracking device to their vehicles, which should bring
down the cost of insurance, or they can attend defensive driving courses at a
recognized academy, which will place in a positive light and earn them more
discounts.
Prevention is always better than cure and insurance groups give out brownie
points for cars that are parked in a locked up garage at night, instead of in
the street.
Simply buying the 'right' colour car also affects the price of car insurance
premiums, according to Lion of Africa.
?Red and black are 'bad' colours that come with higher premiums as they
present a higher collision risk, while white is also considered problematic
because car thieves can respray them quicker than other colours.
Naming the designated driver/s of the car can also bring down prices.
Customers should note, however, that they will remain uncovered should they let
undesignated drivers get behind the wheel.
Keeping records about previous claims is a good idea, as a good claims
history showing no accidents can also affect prices. Previous insurers can be
approached for a history.
