Quad Bike Insurance Guide
Quad Bike Insurance
is another form of vehicle insurance. When shopping around for quad bike
insurance it is important to keep in mind that most insurers will cover the
vehicle for off-road use, since that is the main design of the vehicle, and
should you have an accident on the road, they may not pay because quad bikes
are not normally registered for road use. If yours is be sure to let the
insurer know, and also stick to the rules of the road.
Since Quad Bike
Insurance is mainly off road cover, the insurance is normally
taken out to cover accident and theft. When comparing quad bike insurance from
different insurers it is important to look at the first amounts payable, or
excesses. One insurer might have a lower premium, but expect you to pay for
the first R 10,000 damage, while the other insurer might only request that
you cover the first R 4,000 damages, but their premium could be a few rand
more per month.
Always read the policy wording, and ensure that you
keep you quad bike locked up as described by the policy wording so that
there can be no issues should a claim for theft arise. This is the most
common reason why claims are repudiated by the insurers. Also if you are
travelling with your quad on a trailer, ensure that it is locked to the
trailer securely. Many claims arise from the quads being stolen from the
trailer while the client was in the shops. If it was not locked down
securely the insurer might refuse to pay the claim.
